- I feel like the eaglet who has enjoyed the safety of the nest all of its days and now its mother has perched it upon the edge of the aerie and is preparing to flick him topsy turvy right over the side. My untried wings expectantly flex with nervous energy, as I clamor, then topple right out into space. In free fall now, I spiral ever downward, gasping for breath, and feeling the rush of air against my face. With outstretched wings now I feel a newfound sensation- a flutter- no more is the ground rushing up to meet me, but I am lifted up, up, on a current of wind that buoys me ever upward and away! I am flying, spying now with eyes wide open, seeing a bright new world from a new perspective. With each new pulse of the wings I gather speed, exhilarating flight, into the heavenly realm. So this is soaring! This is life on a blog!
My maternal grandmother was a Higgins, Originally known as O'Higgins of Waterford, Ireland

Family Crests
Genealogy has always interested my family. I have learned that where I have hailed from in good measure helps to determine the course of my life. All the good influence of our forebears, their prayers, their endowments, filter down through the generations and help to develop the inner being of their subsequent progeny. I know that today I enjoy the generational blessings I have inherited from forefathers and mothers. To pay homage to some of those forbears I would like to share some of the family crests in my lineage. Below you see the coat of arms for the Blair's, Higgins's, and Clan Lindsay Crest.
